Superpolished UV/IR Fused Silica Windows Product Overview
Superpolished UV/IR fused silica windows are also known as ultra-smooth fused silica windows or super-precision fused silica windows. They are high-precision optical components made from UV, IR, and high-purity fused silica that have undergone ultra-precision polishing, achieving a surface roughness of sub-nanometer levels. Asin Optics is a manufacturer of ultra-smooth UV and IR fused silica. We can produce ultra-smooth optical components on substrates ranging from 4 mm to 700 mm in diameter, with a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 100 nm, PV ≤ λ/30, and a surface finish of up to 5:1.

Why Choose Asin Optics For Your Low Scatter Optics
- For our Ultra-smooth UV/IR Fused Silica Optical Windows, each window comes with complete process documentation and inspection reports, including surface topography interferograms and AFM roughness profiles, available for reference.
- We utilize Class 100 cleanroom packaging. After undergoing rigorous ultrasonic cleaning and UV-ozone treatment, the windows are vacuum-sealed to prevent contamination from particles and organic matter, thereby maximizing their service life.
- Our technical team can assist customers with coating optimization, providing rapid response and customization services.
Superpolished Fused Silica Windows Applications
UV Lithography and Semiconductor Inspection
In UV lithography and wafer defect inspection, even the faintest stray light can cause pattern distortion or false positives. Sub-nanometer ultra-smooth surfaces eliminate the substrate that causes scattered light, reduce background noise in dark-field inspection, and allow high-energy UV pulses to pass through with high transmittance.
High-Power Lasers
Windows with subsurface damage or impurities are prone to thermal lensing effects. Ultra-smooth windows reduce the frequency of damage to optical components, ensure reliable output of high-power lasers, and withstand high-energy flux density irradiation in transmission optical paths.
Measurement and Interferometry Systems
In interferometric measurements, any nanoscale irregularities on the window surface can cause phase errors. Ultra-smooth components can serve as reference plates or transmission standard windows for Fizeau and Tayman-Green interferometers, ensuring sharp and clear interference fringes and delivering reliable results.
FAQ
Q1: What types of fused silica materials do you currently support?
We currently support synthetic fused silica, such as Corning 7980 and Scott UV/IR fused silica. For specific applications, we will recommend the appropriate grade.
Q2: What are the maximum diameter and minimum thickness for ultra-smooth window plates?
We currently support ultra-smooth processing up to a maximum diameter of 700 mm. For thin window plates, we can achieve a thickness of 0.5 mm while maintaining excellent flatness (1/30 λ).
Q3: What equipment do you use to measure roughness at the angstrom level?
We primarily use atomic force microscopes (AFM) or high-resolution white-light interferometers (such as the Zygo NewView series). Each ultra-smooth product comes with a scan report.
