Micro To Large Diameter Silicon Windows Product Description

Asin Optics customs and manufactures silicon optical protective windows for laser processing, infrared imaging, and semiconductor inspection, with diameters ranging from 1mm to 600mm. We utilize high-purity single-crystal silicon, delivering excellent transmission in the 1.2–7μm wavelength range.

Silicon features outstanding thermal conductivity and an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion, effectively protecting sensors, lenses, and optical systems from thermal shock and dust. Whether for micro silicon protective windows (1–10mm) or large-aperture silicon windows (up to 600mm), we leverage cold processing, precision polishing, and advanced coating capabilities to ensure rapid prototyping and volume delivery.

Why Choose Our Custom Silicon Windows

  1. Whether for 1mm silicon windows used in medical sensors or 600mm components for aerospace applications, we can customize products to meet specific customer requirements.
  2. We currently offer two coating options for silicon optical windows—covering either the 3–5 µm MWIR range or an optimized 8–12 µm range—serving as a viable alternative to germanium.
  3. We also provide DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coatings to ensure resistance against scratches and chemical hazards.

Silicon Optical Windows Applications

Thermal Imaging & Night Vision

Thermal imaging and night-vision equipment is susceptible to scratches and fractures caused by wind-blown sand, installation handling, and cleaning friction. Installing silicon protective windows directly in front of the lens or at the detector assembly protects these components without compromising image quality.

Industrial Laser Systems

During high-power CO₂ laser processing (9.4/10.6 μm), welding spatter, vaporization residue, and smoke/dust can rapidly contaminate and ablate the output window, leading to reduced transmission power, thermal lensing effects, or even catastrophic failure (shattering). Silicon LWIR laser protective windows serve as output windows at the end of the resonant cavity, absorbing thermal energy and protecting the laser system.

Process Control & Metrology Sensors

Sensors used in process control and metrology—such as pyrometers, thermal imaging probes, gas analysis cells, and machine vision cameras—must withstand high-temperature radiation, corrosive gases, high-pressure water vapor, and dust erosion. Silicon windows for optical sensors provide optical transparency across the 1.2 μm to mid/far-infrared range while physically isolating the sensor from harsh environments, ensuring long-term, accurate operation.
