Holmium:YAG Laser Crystals For 2100nm Laser

Holmium:YAG laser crystals are the core solid-state gain materials used to generate lasers in the 2μm wavelength range. Asin Optics customs and manufactures high-quality Holmium:YAG laser crystals in China.

Holmium:YAG Laser Crystals Product Description

Ho:YAG laser crystals are mid-infrared solid-state laser materials. By doping the YAG host with holmium ions (Ho³⁺), the crystal is capable of emitting laser light in the 2090 nm–2120 nm range, particularly at 2100 nm. This wavelength falls within the “eye-safe” range; due to high atmospheric transmission and strong water absorption, it excels in medical laser applications—especially urological lithotripsy—and is also utilized in fields such as LiDAR and industrial processing.

Asin Optics offers high-quality Ho:YAG crystals; we support custom sizing and provide coating services tailored to specific requirements.

Holmium:YAG Laser Crystals Key Features

  1. Holmium:YAG laser crystals have an emission wavelength in the 2090–2100 nm range. This mid-infrared wavelength is particularly well-suited for medical tissue cutting applications, such as laser lithotripsy in urology and prostate enucleation.
  2. The YAG host material itself possesses high thermal conductivity, enabling it to withstand high-power and high-frequency pumping while minimizing the thermal lensing effect.

Why Choose Us For Holmium:YAG Laser Crystals

  • We utilize advanced, high-precision polishing equipment capable of polishing crystal end-faces to achieve extremely low roughness, meeting a 10-5 surface quality standard.
  • We currently offer AR (anti-reflective) coatings and high laser-damage-threshold coatings for crystal end-faces.
  • We strictly control Ho-ion doping concentrations and support processing—including cutting, polishing, and coating—for both small and large-sized crystals.

Ho-doped YAG crystal Applications

Medical Lasers

Serving as the gain medium, Ho:YAG crystals generate high-energy, short-pulse laser output at wavelengths of 2090 nm and 2100 nm under pulsed pumping. These wavelengths are critical in medical applications because they enable simultaneous soft-tissue cutting and hemostasis; consequently, they are widely used in procedures such as urological lithotripsy, prostate surgery, and arthroscopy.

LiDAR

Ho:YAG solid-state lasers serve as the core emission source, generating eye-safe 2.0 μm laser beams. After beam expansion and atmospheric transmission, the system collects the backscattered signals, enabling LiDAR applications to detect atmospheric wind and moisture data for monitoring purposes in sectors such as aviation and meteorology.

Industrial Laser Processing

Ho:YAG lasers are capable of high-frequency output. Since many molecular materials and water-containing tissues exhibit strong absorption at the 2.0 μm wavelength, the laser output from Ho:YAG crystals is effectively utilized for tasks such as cutting, marking, and welding.
