Asin Optics is undoped YAG laser crystals manufacturer in China. We custom undoped YAG protective windows for high power lasers, medical lasers applications

Custom Undoped YAG Crystals & Windows Product Description

Undoped YAG is a substrate and window material suitable for ultraviolet and infrared optical devices, exhibiting no absorption in the 2–3 μm range. It is a non-birefringent synthetic crystal with excellent thermal conductivity and a very high laser damage threshold. As a cubic crystal, undoped YAG is optically isotropic and possesses stable mechanical and chemical properties, as well as excellent thermal stability. Asin Optics is a manufacturer of undoped YAG crystals, and we can polish, process, and coat various YAG morphologies according to customer requirements.

Custom Undoped YAG Crystals & Windows Key Features

  1. Undoped YAG covers the 0.21 µm to 5.5 µm spectral range, making it suitable for various mid-infrared laser wavelengths, such as 1064 nm, 1.5 µm, 2.0 µm, and 5.0 µm.
  2. With a high laser damage threshold, Undoped YAG crystals serves effectively as an output window or protective window for nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond lasers.
  3. Its cubic crystal structure is isotropic, eliminating birefringence. It features exceptionally high thermal conductivity and efficient heat dissipation, making it particularly well-suited for high-power, high-frequency pulsed, and continuous-wave operations.
  4. Our Undoped YAG crystals are free of dislocations and scattering particles, offering excellent refractive index uniformity. This superior optical homogeneity ensures minimal wavefront distortion.

Why Choose Our Custom Undoped YAG Crystals & Windows

  1. We offer customization for various crystal orientations, such as <111>, <100>, and <110>.
We can currently process undoped YAG crystals into a variety of shapes and sizes, including round, square, and custom/irregular geometries.
  2. We provide a range of coating options—such as single-wavelength, dual-wavelength, and broadband anti-reflective (AR) coatings, as well as broadband high-reflective (HR) and beam-splitting coatings—and can optimize them to meet specific laser damage threshold requirements.
  3. We can also perform diffusion bonding between undoped YAG and other doped YAG crystals to create composite crystals.

Custom Undoped YAG Crystals & Windows Applications

High-Power Laser Windows and Protective Covers

Undoped YAG possesses an exceptionally high laser damage threshold; it withstands high peak laser power and maintains minimal wavefront distortion even during high-frequency operation. Furthermore, it offers high transmission across a spectral range extending from ultraviolet to mid-infrared. Consequently, it can be fabricated into parallel-sided plates for use as laser transmission windows or viewing ports, ensuring the window remains stable under laser exposure.

High-Temperature, High-Pressure, and Vacuum Infrared Viewing Windows

YAG has a very high melting point—up to 1950°C—and can withstand temperatures exceeding 1000°C as well as high pressures. Given its high transmission from ultraviolet to mid-infrared, it serves as an ideal material for viewing windows and substrates in visible-light and infrared thermal imaging systems. Such substrates are highly resistant to fracture and satisfy diverse spectral requirements.

Optical Component Substrates

Undoped YAG exhibits excellent optical homogeneity and low scattering; it is free from grain structures and inclusions, making it suitable for fabricating etalons and beamsplitters for interferometers. Additionally, its high degree of isotropy eliminates the need for precise orientation during cutting, simplifying the manufacturing process and making it an excellent material for prisms, aspheric lenses, and grating substrates.
