Fused Silica High Power Laser High Damage Mirrors Product Overview

Fused silica high-power laser high-damage-threshold mirrors are optical components that utilize high-quality fused silica as the substrate material, combined with advanced coating processes, to maintain excellent optical performance under high-energy-density lasers. They are suitable for applications requiring high laser damage thresholds and high reflectivity, such as industrial laser cutting, welding, and scientific laser systems. Asin Optics is a Chinese manufacturer of fused silica high-power laser high-damage-threshold mirrors. We also offer customization services. Our fused silica high-power laser high-damage-threshold mirrors are specifically designed for high-power laser environments and provide excellent resistance to laser damage.

Fused Silica High Power Laser High Damage Mirrors Key Advantage

  • By optimizing coating design and processes, we can deposit coatings with high damage thresholds on mirrors for high-energy lasers. This effectively prevents ablation and charring of the mirror surface under high-power laser irradiation.
  • For specific laser wavelengths, such as 355 nm, 532 nm, 1030 nm, and 1064 nm, our typical reflectance values exceed 99.5%. Additionally, reflectance can be further enhanced to meet customer requirements, thereby minimizing energy loss to the greatest extent possible.
  • We use high-quality fused silica sourced domestically in China or imported from abroad. This material features an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion and maintains stability under temperature fluctuations. Combined with high-quality polishing and anti-reflective (AR) coatings, this ensures low scattering of the mirror surface under high-power irradiation.
  • We can provide surface roughness of 1–2 nm RMS, or even down to the PPM level, with a surface flatness of 1/20λ @ 633 nm, meeting the aberration control requirements of high-energy laser systems.

Fused Silica High Power Laser High Damage Mirrors Custom Capability

Fused Silica High Power Laser High Damage Mirrors Applications

  • High-Power Fiber Laser Cutting
In high-power fiber laser cutting systems, the optical path typically requires multiple mirrors to redirect the beam or adjust its direction. Conventional mirrors heat up rapidly under high-power-density lasers, leading to thermal deformation of the mirror surface. Fused silica mirrors with a high damage threshold can withstand continuous laser irradiation while maintaining stable spot shape and energy distribution
  • Nanosecond Pulsed Solid-State Lasers
Nanosecond Q-switched lasers generate extremely high peak laser powers. Conventional mirrors are prone to surface ionization or coating peeling under such high peak power conditions. Fused silica mirrors, combined with specialized high-laser-damage-threshold coatings, can withstand the high peak powers of nanosecond pulses, thereby improving beam quality.
  • Ultrafast laser systems
At the peak power levels of picosecond and femtosecond lasers, nonlinear effects can easily damage mirror surfaces; standard mirrors are prone to dispersion, self-focusing, and ionization damage. Fused silica high-laser-damage-threshold mirrors inherently possess an extremely low nonlinear refractive index; when combined with high-laser-damage-threshold dielectric coatings, they can suppress nonlinear damage.
